About Us

Background

In response to a declining trend in summer courses, sections and enrollments over the past two years, the Provost organized a university-wide planning committee to review summer session operations.

The charge to the committee, which consists of representatives from the colleges, faculty, students and administration, was to make recommendations for improvements that would lead to increased enrollments by Summer 2007.

Our Mission

It is the mission of the Office of University Summer Sessions to promote summer session as an integral component of a student's learning, discovery, and engagement experience while with the university.

Our Purpose

We seek to serve as a central planning and advocacy function for summer session to coordinate cross-college initiatives and to promote long-range planning for summer instruction.
