Provost Summer Sessions Grant Overview

The Summer Sessions Grant was developed in 2006 to encourage faculty to promote students’ learning, engagement and discovery. Each year a total of $75,000 will be awarded. Faculty recipients are awarded $5,000 to fund the development and delivery of a new course.

For the purposes of the grant, a “new course” is defined as: 1) any course that has never been taught during the summer sessions; or 2) any course that has been taught during any of the academic terms, but reformatted with a new instructional delivery method (e.g., formatting a face-to-face course for an online population).

A call for proposals will take place each fall semester. The Summer Sessions Advisory Board reviews all submissions and provides recommendations. All applicants are notified of their proposal status by December 1.
